Re-Tek, Inc. started
producing and selling SLRM in 1993.
Since then, over 5 million pounds of SLRM has
been sold to Day Care facilities, Schools and family homes. While
many customers initially think SLRM is
produced from recycled tires (called whole tires), it is actually
made from the retread (buffings)
of large truck tires. By using this type of rubber Re-Tek
is able to produce a Rubber Mulch that is "shredded" instead
of "crumbed" or "chunked".
Many companies offer different types of rubber
mulch. It is important to remember that ALL RUBBER MULCH
IS NOT THE SAME. Below is a quick
chart that shows some of the important differences between "shredded" and "crumbed" rubber
products.
